BDI Introduces Dining — A New Chapter in Modern Living

A new category for BDI. BDI enters the dining category, extending its thoughtful, systems-driven design approach into how people gather.

CHANTILLY, VA–Spring 2026 – Known for furniture that organizes workspaces, media, storage, and more recently bedroom, the company applies that same thinking here—focusing on how pieces function within spaces that shift throughout the day.

Rather than treating dining as a fixed setting, the new collections reflect a more flexible use of the table—supporting meals, work, and connection with equal clarity.

“Every piece we design starts with use—how it functions and how it fits into daily life,” said BDI founder and Design Director Bill Becker. “Dining gave us the opportunity to apply that same thinking to how people gather.”

Bloom and Halcyon introduce that approach, each exploring structure and material in distinct ways, but grounded in the same idea: dining furniture should support the many ways that people come together, not just where they eat.

BLOOM™ OPEN BY DESIGN.

A round dining collection centered around a 3-part sculpted pedestal base—designed to feel open, airy, and visually light.

The base structure creates space beneath the table while maintaining stability, bringing a sense of clarity and balance to the room. Its engineering is intentional but restrained—solving structure without adding visual weight. Available in 48" and 60" sizes.

TALKING BLOOM

• “A sculpted base that keeps the table open and visually light.”

• “Engineered for stability without adding bulk.”

• “Balances structure with a more airy presence.”

HALCYON™ STRUCTURE, WITHIN

A rectangular dining collection that integrates discreet divided storage drawers into the design.

Halcyon pairs a substantial travertine porcelain top with a grounded walnut base that does more than support—it organizes. Integrated storage keeps everyday items accessible while maintaining a clean, uninterrupted exterior. Available in 72" and 84" sizes.

TALKING HALCYON

• “Integrated storage built into the frame.”

• “Keeps essentials accessible without adding clutter.”

• “Combines structure with everyday function.”
